At WebexOne in San Diego this week, I caught up with Espen Løberg, VP of Product Management for Cisco Collaboration Devices, on the expo floor. The event was buzzing, and the spotlight was firmly on AI — particularly Cisco Webex's new MDEP partnership with Microsoft and NVIDIA.
Løberg was clear about why this matters:
“MDEP will bring the most secure way of collaborating in the Microsoft Teams environment — and when you combine that with the world’s most secure meeting room devices, you get something no one else in the market can match.”
He went on to outline how agentic AI will begin shaping the meeting experience. From intelligent note-takers and virtual facilitators to devices that dynamically adjust camera views based on room size and participation, Cisco is aiming to make meetings smarter and more inclusive.

One of the most striking developments is the integration of 3D digital twins into Cisco Control Hub. By capturing a detailed model of the meeting space, IT administrators can instantly identify equipment gaps, receive AI-driven recommendations, and even automate meeting zone configurations.
And behind it all is a significant leap in performance: according to Løberg, AI compute on these devices is now 7,000x more powerful than before!
