Tata Communications and Microsoft have partnered to empower voice calling in Teams for India-based enterprises.
The Tata Communications GlobalRapide platform facilitates seamless PSTN voice calls for Indian enterprise users and multinational companies operating in India. This service allows users to make and receive carrier-grade calls using Teams devices from any location worldwide, leveraging the Operator Connect platform.
Sriram Sampath, Vice President, Unified Communications & Collaboration at Tata Communications, said:
While businesses are expanding, the geographical borders are constantly shrinking with the power of collaboration tools. To make the most of these innovative tools, enterprises need a global partner with local expertise. Our collaboration with Microsoft on Operator Connect for Teams will further enhance workforce productivity and efficiency for enterprises, while helping them abide with the local regulations and compliance."
The GlobalRapide platform provides a comprehensive managed services layer, overseeing the deployment, onboarding, and management of Teams, endpoint devices, and SBCs (session border controllers). It bolsters usability, security, and regulatory compliance, all within a unified platform. This streamlines Teams platform management, affording enterprises full control and visibility without incurring additional hardware costs.
Utilizing partnerships with over 700 mobile network operators spanning more than 190 countries, Tata Communications is well-placed to provide regulatory-compliant cloud calling and audio-conferencing capabilities. The GlobalRapide platform enhances fraud prevention measures and adheres closely to local market regulations, enabling businesses to securely engage and collaborate with their global value chains.
"We are pleased to partner with Tata Communications to help our customers extend their global footprint through Operator Connect for Teams," added Shruti Bhatia, Country Head, Modern Work and Surface, India and South Asia at Microsoft. "This collaboration reflects our commitment to delivering greater efficiencies and productivity gains for businesses across India. Together, we are committed to help enterprises grow and scale – seamlessly, efficiently and securely."
What Did Tata Get Up To Last Year?
In March, Tata released its "JAMVEE" cloud-based calling solution to boost employee experience and productivity.
JAMVEE offers users voice calling, messaging, and collaboration features and allows secure communications between colleagues on any Android, Windows, or iOS desktop device. The solution has been explicitly designed for frontline workers. It has a basic interface, allowing users to call, chat, and share voice recordings with co-workers in a Closed User Group (CUG).
