Logitech has launched its flexible, "show-and-tell" Reach camera, intending to address the challenge of sharing non-digital content in meetings.
The Logitech Reach, which Logitech describes as "a versatile, articulating camera experience", allows users to stay focused on their work while sharing non-digital content during in-person presentations, conference calls, livestreams and classes.
The vendor explained that Reach was inspired by customer research in which people experienced difficulty sharing non-digital content. Traditionally, users had to make the most of limited existing setups, piece together separate products without fluent integration, or adapt to complex production processes and tools.
Logitech's announcement wrote:
Logitech Reach addresses those challenges to enable an engaging, interactive “show and tell” experience so that users can lay out the content to show first, then position the camera with control and ease along multiple axes to tell their story."
There is currently no concrete release date for the Logitech Reach. Still, Logitech is currently offering early access to Logitech Reach and a discounted price to gain valuable insights into the use cases for Logitech Reach in diverse environments.
The Logitech Reach's Feature Set
The Reach boasts crisp video picture by building on the Logitech Streamcam’s premium 1080p and 60fps video quality, improved with glass optics and intelligent autofocus to create a more immersive experience.
The camera utilises expansive lateral movement, allowing users to grip the camera ring and shift the camera along the horizontal plane with one movement for capturing non-digital content. This allows content to be viewed easily, while guidance indicators ensure the image stays upright during the process.
The camera showcases independent vertical movement to capture the non-digital content further. By pushing one analogue button, users can enable 4.3x lossless zoom with autofocus to illustrate to audiences the closest details of presentations or conference calls.
Users can also complement the horizontal and vertical movement functionalities by leveraging the pivoting camera head to create new vantage points. The camera can be moved to precisely where it’s needed.
Logitech Reach provides a plug-and-play experience via USB and can be utilised with most computers and conferencing or streaming platforms, making it accessible for most users.
It is also highly adaptable. Users can operate in full desktop mode by positioning the Reach on a table. They can also switch it into a compact "stowed" mode and pair it with the edge clamp.
