Lenovo world-first collaboration bar

Lenovo introduced its ‘world-first’ all-in-one Windows collaboration bar at Infocomm 2022.

According to Lenovo, the smart bar is the first to run Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. It is designed for small to medium-size meeting rooms or home offices, and it promises high-quality audio-visual experiences for hybrid working employees.

The device supports Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms and includes stereo speakers, a high-resolution camera, and eight microphones.

Shannon MacKay, General Manager of Worldwide Smart Collaboration Business, Lenovo, said: “Addressing hybrid collaboration challenges isn’t simply a matter of seeing and hearing more clearly.

“Technology must bring more natural, in-person experiences to virtual engagements and deliver that experience equally for all participants.

“ThinkSmart One delivers the kind of smart collaboration that fuels innovation through technology that’s ubiquitous, equitable and seamless.”

ThinkSmart One Features

Lenovo points to the device’s flexibility and scalability as it includes a wall mount option and HDMI, USB and Power over Ethernet (PoE) input and output ports.

Its audio-visual components feature eight microphones with a 180-degree field of view, a high definition camera with a 100-degree field of view, and 15-Watt stereo speakers with an approximate range of 26 feet.

The collaboration bar can be managed via a separate touch screen controller or through the ThinkSmart Manager remotely.

Value-Added Software and Services

ThinkSmart One comes with three years of Lenovo’s Premier Support which includes 24/7 advanced technical support and one year of ‘value-added software and services’.

As part of these ‘value-added’ extras, the first year of maintenance by ThinkSmart Professional services is included. Lenovo says this will help IT departments set up kits and integrate them into their unified communication platforms. A one-year maintenance contract with a redeployment option to a different meeting space also comes as part of the package.

Lenovo’s software management suite, ThinkSmart Manager Premium, is another extra benefitting IT departments which purchase the ThinkSmart One. This tool aids in configuring and managing the ThinkSmart portfolio of solutions and is built on a single interface.

Recently, the Intellimix room audio software digital signal processor has been certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms when installed using the Lenovo ThinkSmart Core

Lenovo is also due to be exhibiting at Commsverse 2022 on June 29th and 30th, alongside Poly, Neat, Crestron and others.
