Zoom has revealed the general availability of its Zoom Events Conference solution and React Native for Zoom’s Video SDK developer support, as well as a host of updates for its collaboration suite.
The Zoom Events solution has now been expanded to include conferences that span across multiple days and sessions – using the same technology that saw 33,000 people attend Zoomtopia 2021 in October.
Organisers can now spread events across five days, with up to 13 sessions running at any one time.
Zoom has also announced a host of new features to ensure that events run smoothly. Up to 20 users can be assigned as event co-editors to spread the workload, while speakers can be given the control to edit their own session information and bios. Session and speaker information can now be uploaded with a single click.
Zoom Conference is designed to be an interactive and immersive experience. Users can chat before, during and after sessions, and add other attendees as contacts. Organisers also have the ability to moderate chat channels.
Analytics can be viewed throughout and after events, giving organisers the ability to understand attendance and engagement. There is also support for event sponsorship, with benefits such as dedicated virtual spaces, tiered levels and video upload.
Zoom has also expanded the reach of Zoom Events. Paid events can now be hosted in eight new regions: Brazil, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
These are in addition to the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and France.
Free events can be hosted in the majority of regions where Zoom operates. View more here.
Zoom is also hosting webinars on 4 and 18 November, where users can learn more about Zoom Events.
React Native
Zoom also announced the general availability of its React Native for Zoom Video SDK, which it said has been highly requested across the developer community. React Native is an open-source framework for developing mobile apps.
Initially announced at Zoomtopia 2021, the SDK will let developers build customisable video-based applications across Android and iOS, or add video to existing apps to enhance user experience without the need to write native code.
Zoom said that the React Native for Video SDK will be supported by Zoom itself and will have a similar feature set to the native iOS and Android Video SDKs.
More information on Zoom’s developer tools can be found here or in Zoom’s recently launched community.
