Vonage and AWS have partnered on communications and networking Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to foster innovation.
A collaboration between Vonage, a subsidiary of Ericsson, and AWS aspires to merge Vonage's platform, which leverages communication and network APIs, with Ericsson's cutting-edge 5G network capabilities and the extensive suite of AWS services.
The partnership seeks to expedite the accessibility of smart solutions to millions of developers within the AWS community through the AWS Marketplace.
Niklas Heuveldop, Vonage CEO and Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform, Ericsson, said:
By working with AWS, we will accelerate our ability to embed communications and network APIs in applications and deliver new product offerings for AWS and Vonage customers. With network APIs, we are exposing new capabilities from within the 5G network that have never been available before, allowing existing applications to be enhanced with network information and enabling the development of a new class of applications."
Vonage's CPaaS service is fully customisable, allowing seamless integration of video, voice, chat, messaging, AI, and verification functionalities into current products, workflows, and systems. This platform streamlines the process for a community exceeding one million developers to introduce comms capabilities into their applications, systems, and workflows using communications APIs.
"AWS and Vonage have a shared passion for helping customers deliver innovation and value," added Kathrin Renz, Vice President of AWS Industries. "Working together with Vonage, we aim to drive new industrial and enterprise applications across industries that combine 5G networks and technologies like generative artificial intelligence to fuel new products and enhance the overall customer experience.”
Vonage's Fraud Protection Service Arriving on AWS
Vonage's forthcoming Fraud Protection solution is set to debut on the AWS Marketplace and showcases several critical components. This includes the Vonage CAMARA-based API SIM Swap (currently in alpha), its Fraud Defender solution bolstered by AWS generative AI services, and its Verify and Number Insights APIs coupled with Amazon Rekognition.
This update signals Vonage's commitment to expanding its portfolio with solutions that leverage the capabilities of network APIs, accelerating their availability in the market.
Essential features include the SIM Swap network API, tailored to enable developers to identify if a phone number has undergone recent SIM card changes potentially indicative of fraudulent activity. Additionally, Vonage's enhanced Fraud Defender API offers proactive fraud signal detection, while the Verify API facilitates secure silent authentication, and the Number Insights API offers Fraud Scoring capabilities.
Furthermore, the solution's fraud detection capabilities receive a boost from the integration with AWS generative AI services. This integration promises to empower businesses to combat mobile fraud more effectively while concurrently enhancing the overarching customer experience.
