Microsoft Teams Monthly Active Users (MAU) have surged to 270 million, CEO Satya Nadella has revealed.
Nadella was speaking as Microsoft reported its quarterly earnings, with revenue climbing 20 percent to $51.7bn. Operating income grew 24 percent to $22.2bn.
The chief exec hailed Teams as the centre of Microsoft’s “digital fabric”.
He did not give updated figures for Phone MAU, but said it is now used by 90 percent of Fortune 500 companies.
Nadella also revealed that the number of active Teams Rooms devices more than doubled year on year in the quarter.
“Teams is rapidly becoming the standard for unified communications,” he declared on an earnings call. “We’re seeing Teams growth in every segment.”
Microsoft last gave Teams usage figures in July, at 250 million MAU.
The CEO gave a brief update on the latest Teams offering, Teams Essentials, which decouples the platform from the wider Microsoft 365 portfolio and is targeted at small businesses.
