It seems Gartner was not far off when they ended the Unified Communications Magic Quadrant report, citing significant changes and maturity of the market. One of those changes? The demand for more workplace collaboration tools.
As the number of organizations migrating to Cloud-based telephony from on-premises business comms increases, enterprises are still searching for an all-in-one solution to their needs. Enter PGi, which recently announced the release of new features for its Cloud-based communications platform, GlobalMeet. With the new features set, PGi becomes that all-in-one business communications platform.
For 28 years, PGi focused on conferencing. PGi has today, added a list of features that enhance cloud voice and business messaging. PGi will soon display GlobalMeet’s updated capabilities at UC EXPO this May in London. There, newly-appointed Chief Marketing Officer Mark Roberts says attendees can expect to see GlobalMeet’s new UCaaS capabilities.

GlobalMeet’s UCaaS functionalities include collaboration enhancements that address the challenges facing employees across every organization. Harnessing Artificial Intelligence, GlobalMeet creates insights and recommendations to save time while empowering employees to work smarter and faster.
Through active directory integrations with Microsoft Office 365, meeting hosts can identify who is in attendance and manage those who are absent. After a meeting ends, the system prompts hosts to send a recording of the meeting to attendees and those that couldn’t attend, as well.
There are all new live transcripts and meeting summaries as well, which accommodate attendees who want a written record of the call without listening to the entire recording. The final new GlobalMeet feature is a widget, which lets users multitask and access system features if they minimize GlobalMeet.

Roberts said, with the rising demand for robust Cloud features, PGi is undergoing a transition. Behind the scenes, they’ve been building up their portfolio with webinar and collaboration features. PGi is also working with Dolby Audio to produce richer sound quality on calls.
