Tom Arbuthnot from Modality Systems joins Patrick to discuss the latest updates, for the Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business platforms, that were revealed in October.
The biggest piece of news is the general availability of Skype for Business Server 2019. Patrick and Tom have reviewed the latest features in the new edition on a previous podcast but Tom summarises the main news again now. The latest edition was made available on Monday through the Microsoft VLSC.
Tom and Patrick then move onto the Microsoft Team's news. Tom tells Patrick about the new organisation wide team possibilities. The guys discuss the reasoning behind this development and contemplate potential conflicts and overlap with Yammer, Microsoft's enterprise social networking service.
There is also some sad news as Microsoft have removed T-Bot from Microsoft Teams. The automated help bot has now been replaced by a more traditional self-service help function. Tom provides further details on the PSTN conference meeting notification options, which could have been a potential annoyance to some customers. Also a third party company, UserVoice, is administering a website where users and professionals can submit new feature ideas for the Microsoft Team's platform. Tom takes us through his favourite suggestions so far.
