Microsoft has halted sales of all products and services in Russia over the country's invasion of Ukraine.
Brad Smith, President and Vice Chairman of Microsoft, also said that Microsoft is working in conjunction with the EU, US and UK to stop "many aspects" of its existing operations in the country.
"Like the rest of the world, we are horrified, angered and saddened by the images and news coming from the war in Ukraine and condemn this unjustified, unprovoked and unlawful invasion by Russia," he said.
Smith revealed that Microsoft has "acted against Russian positioning, destructive or disruptive measures" to prevent cyber attacks against 20 Ukrainian government, IT and financial businesses.
"We have publicly raised our concerns that these attacks against civilians violate the Geneva Convention," he added.
Microsoft's move comes hot on the heels of other high-profile brands limiting services in Russia, such as Apple and Google.
Meanwhile, a number of comms providers. have taken steps to help Ukrainian citizens stay connected.
