HP Moves Deeper into Employee Experience with Vyopta Acquisition

HP’s Vyopta buy boosts Workforce Experience Platform with AI, unified communications monitoring and employee experience insights. Published on UC Today.

HP acquires Vyopta for employee experience

HP has acquired Vyopta to bolster the capabilities of its recently launched Workforce Experience Platform.

Founded in 2007, Vyopta offers a platform that monitors and triages large unified communications networks.

Faisal Masud, President of HP Digital Services, said: “With the addition of Vyopta’s unique capabilities, HP has a tremendous opportunity to unlock fulfilling employee experiences and meet the evolving needs of our customers.

“Vyopta has revolutionised the way organisations deliver collaboration experiences by providing contextual intelligence, unified visibility, and actionable alerts across a wide range of business collaboration applications, devices, and infrastructure.

“Together, we will deliver more AI-driven, streamlined, and comprehensive insights that enable an agile, resilient, and productive workforce.”

HP launched the Workforce Experience Platform in private beta earlier this year with a view to enhancing employee experience and streamlining IT management through a single platform.

The vendor said this acquisition “marks the next step in the platform journey” and differentiates it from its competitors.

HP’s Evolving Employee Experience Strategy

The acquisition is set to bolster HP’s platform strategy by extending its capabilities to include both space and application management.

One key enhancement is the integration of Vyopta as a core feature for fleet management through multi-vendor monitoring, analytics, and tools for tracking space utilisation and occupancy.

Customers will also gain access to end-to-end insights based on telemetry data gathered from on-premises and cloud collaboration technologies, allowing for better visibility across devices, applications, infrastructure, and networks. These insights will support proactive troubleshooting, provide recommendations, and inform data-driven decisions for workplace management.

Additionally, the platform will be enhanced with AI-powered capabilities, accelerating the integration of Managed Collaboration Solutions and enriching datasets for managing the employee experience. Finally, the platform will be rebuilt using a modern microservices architecture, improving integrations, scalability, and security.

The Acquisition comes a day after HP revealed product launches and updates at its HP Imagine 2024 event, amid a continued move deeper into the unified communications and collaboration space.

Earlier this year, HP unveiled a series of "next-generation" audiovisual solutions it said will make hybrid working more convenient.

A few months later, it partnered with Google to develop an extended reality video conferencing solution called Project Starline.

HP Imagine

At HP Imagine, HP revealed that its Workforce Experience is being made available to HP Proactive Insight customers in beta for free.

As part of the rollout, new capabilities around fleet management and employee sentiment were added to help helpdesks manage support tickets.

The vendor also revealed support for Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate, and Tableau. Support for other vendors, including ServiceNow, is in the pipeline.

There was also hardware news, with HP revealing a range of Poly Studio multicamera devices and a new Poly operating system.
