Business customers can now use Google Meet devices to join Zoom Meetings as the interoperability for both begins rolling out this month.
At the same time, those customers with Zooms Rooms have the ability to join Google Meet meetings. Google previously announced the development in October.
However, when it was first presented a Google Workspace update added the following proviso:
"Please note that Zoom interoperability supports core video conferencing features. Some advanced features, such as polls, wired present, and dual-screen support may not be available when using Meet hardware to join Zoom Meetings and vice versa."

Participants will be able to either directly join a meeting from a Zoom Room or a Google Meet device calendar via a one-click button, or by typing in a meeting code.
Scheduling Zoom Meetings From a Google Meet Device
Google Calendar users can add the room associated with their Google Meet hardware device when creating an event with Zoom meeting details. The Zoom meeting will appear on the conference room agenda. If the event with Zoom meeting details is outside the organization or from a client other than Google Calendar, the user may not have permission to add rooms directly. In the case of this happening users can:
- Duplicate an event in Google Calendar
- Add a meeting room with Google Meet hardware to a duplicate event
- You can remove all attendees from duplicate appointments to avoid receiving multiple invitations
Alternatively, users can create their own meeting, invite the meeting room, and copy and paste the Zoom join details into the event description (instead of adding a Meet link). The Meet hardware device must recognize Zoom join details and display them in the agenda.
To join a scheduled Zoom meeting from a Google Meet hardware device users enter the conference room with the Meet hardware device where the Zoom interop call is scheduled. They then tap the meeting name with the subtitle "Via Zoom". The attendee then selects a meeting using the Touch controller or remote control. The meeting will start when the Zoom host joins.
