Cisco Live 2025 is underway, and it marked its halfway point with a swath of announcements, both Cisco and Webex-related.
Taking place in San Diego from June 8–12, the annual conference serves as Cisco's primary platform for announcing product updates, partnerships, and technology roadmaps.
What's clear from this year is that the company is doubling down on AI. Cisco announced a sweeping set of innovations to accelerate enterprise AI adoption—headlined by a new secure network architecture for the AI era.
The company also announced partnerships with NVIDIA and several new cloud providers, alongside hardware updates for data centers and campus networks.
Although AI was the focus, Cisco made sure to throw some of its AI energy into its UC platform Webex.
These updates include enhanced meeting technology, workflow automation features, and conversational control systems designed to improve workplace productivity.
Cisco Room Vision PTZ: AI-Powered Camera Technology for Video Meetings
Cisco announced new devices for improving workplaces, including the Room Vision PTZ camera for meetings.
Featuring automated speaker tracking and intelligent framing capabilities, the camera uses computer vision to identify active speakers and adjust positioning automatically. This addresses common issues in hybrid work environments where remote participants struggle to follow in-person discussions.
The camera system incorporates algorithms that recognize speaker changes and adjust framing in real time. This technology aims to reduce the disconnect between remote and in-person meeting participants by providing consistent visual access to speakers.
Jira Integration to Automate Project Management Tasks
Cisco touted the Jira Workflow Automation within the Cisco AI Assistant for Webex Suite.
The system uses AI to analyze meeting conversations and identify action items, automatically generating corresponding tickets in Jira.
During meetings, the AI assistant recognizes when participants discuss deliverables or commitments and creates project tracking entries.
This eliminates manual task creation and ensures meeting decisions are captured in project management systems.
