UC Today attended Cloud Comms Summit 2019 which concluded in Washington earlier in September. The latest iteration of the Cloud Comms Summit is organised by Cavell Group and the Cloud Communications Alliance.
Cavell Group is a global thought-leader in the voice and VoIP marketplace providing analytics and insights across the industry. The Cloud Comms Summit forms part of its global tour taking its knowledge and research infront of service providers around the world. Patrick talks to Matthew Townend, Director of Research & Consulting at Cavell Group about the 2019 Washington event. Townend explains that the event has been growing year on year and that 2019 gathered around 300 service providers to examine the hottest topics in the industry. Patrick also asks Townend for his highlight from this year's conference.
Next up we hear from Cavell's Head of Research, Dominic Black. Black tells Patrick about some of the emerging technology and workplace trends that have had the biggest impact on this year's event. SD-WAN, Mobility and communication integration features have all been prominent in the discussions between vendors and partners. Shaping a service provider's approach to the market is one of the key goals for the event, so Cavell are keen for the seminars and keynotes to reflect real world applications.
