Acrobits recently launched a new native desktop app for its application platform as a service (APaaS) Cloud Softphone. Users can now transform their desktop into a fully-integrated business phone and collaboration suite using the native application.
UC Today sat down with Rafael Torreblanca, SVP of Business Development at Acrobits, who told me about this low-code experience that’s compatible with Windows, Mac, and the latest Apple M1 Chip.
During that interview, Rafael explained what users can do by leveraging Acrobit's latest offering.
"They can communicate the way they want using voice, messaging, video conferencing, busy lamp fields, and click-to-call functionality,” he said, “It’s that full business phone experience companies need for their remote workforce in a desktop environment.”
COVID-19 Created the Perfect Conditions for Feature-Rich Softphones

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a sharp rise in features once deemed 'add-ons.' Today, many of said features are seen as essential, especially those that enable the future of work and remote working. According to Rafael, the platform took its cue from the pandemic, extending a host of features designed for ease of deployment and use, including click-to-call, call pick up, and call forwarding.
That list also includes call recording, voicemail, encryption, in-app branding, support for APIs, video conferencing, rich messaging, file transfer, and external provisioning. When it comes to set-up, companies can get up and running in less than a day with the organization's same-day provisioning for desktop and mobile devices, Rafael noted.
Acrobits' goal is to have one desktop super app for all your business calls and communications. And Rafael elaborated, adding that the unified communications apps are fully compatible with many leading headset brands, further noting:
"Our cloud softphone desktop app is fully-integrated with Jabra, Poly, and Sennheiser headsets, with new integrations getting added regularly to meet customer demand"
Rafael also discussed the powerful encryption stack Acrobits uses — the same one that’s trusted by the European Parliament. He said that privacy is not an issue with their cloud-based softphone, which lets users keep their phone calls and conversations private, making it the ideal platform for security-focused companies.
