Gartner Finds 41% of CISOs Face Deepfake Voice Scams

Gartner reports that 41% of CISOs surveyed saw social engineering attempts via employee phone calls in the past year, while 36% encountered similar attacks over video. Gartner recommends moving beyond “spot the fake” training and making secure verification standard across communication channels. Deepfake voice and video attacks are surging as an enterprise security concern, growing by 2,100% globally.

Microsoft disrupts EvilTokens after 12,000 account breaches

Microsoft said it led an industry operation to disrupt EvilTokens, a subscription phishing platform that allegedly used an AI chatbot to analyse compromised inboxes and support payment-fraud campaigns. Microsoft said the service compromised 12,000 accounts across 10,000 organisations; authorities seized 50 websites and 150 domains, while UK police arrested two suspects.
