Mitel is recognised as a global leader when it comes to business communications technology. The company boasts 70 million connections across a hundred countries and has been around for nearly 46 years now. Its revenues are well over USD 1.3 billion, and Mitel is also a four-time Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader for unified communications. Further, it was the Frost & Sullivan Growth leader for unified communications in North America in 2017, and over these four decades, the company has filed 1600+ patents.

The MiCloud Flex is a scalable business communication solution which takes connectivity above and beyond legacy on-premise systems, reducing both costs and complexity. The communication suite offers IP telephony, unified communications and collaboration – all bundled into one managed service.

MiCloud is ideal for large companies which require a rich UC environment, with multiple offices and several remote workers.

Inside MiCloud Flex

The MiCloud Flex solution offers a massive catalogue of features, spanning every index of usage and tools required.

Business telephony features include hunt/ring groups, localised emergency dialling, call transfers, call forwarding, call park, pick up and hold, speed dialling, direct page, in-call recording, Do Not Disturb (DND), and detailed call histories.

Collaboration capabilities comprise rich presence information, instant messaging, dynamic status updates, access to corporate directory, click-to-call, a softphone on all supported bundles, visual voicemail, point-to-point video, team-wise video streaming, group chats, task management, and meetings.

Scalability is driven by the MiCloud Flex solution bundle, equipped to manage anywhere between 250 and 50,000 users.

Customer engagement and experience is enhanced by MiCloud Contact Centre’s IVR messaging and routing, Advanced Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-To-Speech (TTS), multimedia capabilities, call recording, screen recording, workforce scheduling, and the dedicated Business Reporter module.

Consolidated ring groups are also available, supported by a variety of call distribution algorithms described as terminal hunt groups, circular hunt groups, and ring groups.

Further add-ons include standalone and ready-for-bundling products such as Mitel World Cloud, CRM integrations, MiVoice Skype for Business integration, MiCloud Video, web fax, hosted web conferencing, anytime-audio conferencing, MiCloud Edge, performance analytics, business analytics, and Mitel Mobile.

Why MiCloud Flex Makes a Difference

There’s no doubting it – MiCloud Flex is a really powerful product. It offers an end-to-end cloud-based enterprise-class communication solution which is geared for extensive customisation and integration with productivity tools like Microsoft Link, Skype, and Salesforce, among others. It lets you scale up or down as you grow your business, without having to invest in complex IT resources. Given that workflows can be moved seamlessly via the cloud, it is ideal for multi-office environments. And, with its wide bouquet of collaboration integrations (Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, and Google), you can truly leverage the power of a UC interface across stakeholders.

You can also intersect your CRM or other business applications to derive real-time customer insights, identify key customers based on stored key profiles, and route them to the most appropriate agent/resource.

What We Think

Let’s just put it out there – with MiCloud Flex, you can access a business phone that’s a class apart. The nerve centre of the system is in Mitel’s geo-redundant data centres which can absorb any outage. MiCloud Flex uses VoIP and employees can enjoy the same quality of communication, whether they are WFH, in office, or on the road. MiCloud Flex is available in four editions, based on different business needs:

  • Extension – Unlimited local and long-distance calling plans, functional coverage for lobbies and meeting rooms, with business communication features
  • Essentials – Meant for desk-first users with chat functionality, unlimited local and long-distance calls, and Mitel Voice & Real-time Communication Application
  • Premier – Full suite of calling and real-time collaboration, with unlimited local and long-distance calling plans
  • Elite – End-to-end suite of calling and real-time collaboration features, easy transitioning across devices and locations, and unlimited local and long-distance calls

Clearly, MiCloud Flex understands its market and the varied & diverse nature of its customers. As a result, it has neatly packaged the various features into clear solution bundles. We think that MiCloud Flex is among the best options for companies ready to shift to the cloud (especially if one has a large distributed team). With its wide selection of features and multiple integrations, it makes calling easier and collaboration more effective.
